Putting on the finishing touches Workers handle the new snow as the Mt. Ashland lodge nears completion of work on additions and remodeling Tuesday afternoon. Ashland Ski Area lodge, which will add 1,000 square feet to the lodge by enclosing two decks, relocating the rental shop and creating better guest services. Work began in mid-July and is scheduled to end by Nov. 22. Opening day is set for Dec. 9. The ski area has received 24 inches of snow in the last week with up to three more feet expected by next Wednesday. Discounted season tickets ($399 adults, $299 students) will be available at a "Pray for Snow" party tonight at Creekside Pizza at 92 North Main St. in Ashland. Deschutes Brewery and Cascade Lakes Brewing Company will give away a Mt. Ashland Season Pass and other prizes throughout the evening. The free event starts at 7 p.m.
