Ashland multi-instrumentalist Kevin Carr will join the band. The live music will range from driving dance tune medleys to heartbreaking songs of love and immigration. Raney recently  released her fourth album, “Here This is Home.”  Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at squareup.com/market/little-sea-records-llc or at the door. The Rogue Suspects Lead guitarist Dirk Price, bassist Greg Frederick, drummer David Bolen, keyboard player Don Harriss, percussionist Mary Rydman and lead vocalist Shae Johnson will play a mix of rock, pop, soul and funk for a sit-down concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Randall Theatre, 10 Third St., Medford. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served before the show. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased online at randalltheatre.com or by calling 541-632-3258. Alex de Grassi & Andrew York Two leading innovators of guitar, Windham Hill recording artist Alex de Grassi and Grammy winner Andrew York will join forces to fuse the sounds and traditions of steel and nylon strings, along with the roots of folk, jazz and classical music, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. 'Transmissions I' A multimedia concert by performing art ensemble Todd Barton, Bruce Bayard and Darrell Bluhm, with poetry by Jonah Bornstein as recorded by Christine Williams, will be presented at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at The Dance Space, 280 E. Hersey St., Ashland. The performance is an improvised concert, creating a sound and image collage in the moment. Sound and visual artist Bayard and sound designer Barton will be joined by martial artist Darrell Bluhm to explore the transmission of sound, image and movement. These three artists build a live abstract narrative, using movement, voice, words, sound and video. Admission is $10. Call 541-482-2253 for information. Tea & Symphony Monday, April 20, is the deadline to purchase tickets for the Rogue Valley Symphony Guild's 35th anniversary gala to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Rogue Valley Country Club, 2660 Hillcrest Road, Medford. The guild, along with Grants Pass Friends of the Symphony, will host "A Musical Matinee with the Maestro," a program of chamber music by members of the Rogue Valley Symphony, dance by Diane Hurst Ballet, and high tea. Silent and live auctions will held. All proceeds will benefit RVSO. Reservations cost $60, $45 for ages 11 and younger, and can be made by emailing [email protected] or by calling 541-499-6132.               'The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)' 'The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)': This hilarious love letter to musical theater, smartly written by Eric Rockwell and Joanne Bogart, is a comic satire of musical genres. It's structured into five acts, each parodying American and British musical theater styles and all dealing with the classic melodramatic plot: "I can't pay the rent!" The show opens Thursday, April 9, and runs through May 17 at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre, First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. Curtain is at 8 p.m., 1 p.m. for Saturday and Sunday matinees. Preview tickets cost $21. Tickets for all other performances cost $35. Bistro seating is available for $21. A benefit performance will be offered at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 11. The Rogue Valley rock band — with bandleader and guitarist Bret Levick, slide guitarist Bob Evoniuk, bassist Greg Frederick, drummer Matt Terreri — will play an eclectic mix of originals and roots rock — think The Band, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones — at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, at the Bella Union, 170 W. California St., Jacksonville. There is no cover for the show.  Ashland Co-Dependent Film Festival The Bad Film Society, in response to the classier film festival in town, will present a comedy extravaganza on Sunday, April 12, in the basement of the Ashland Elks. The feature will be "Gremlins 2: The New Batch." It's a satire of a sequel and a box office failure to the tune of $50 million. When the gremlins take over a New York City skyscraper owned by an evil tycoon, insane action like that of a Warner Brothers cartoon about genetic engineering ensues. Look for unexpected cameos and plot twists. Hysterical short films, including the 1943 Merrie Melodies cartoon that introduced the gremlin, also will be shown. Visitors should bring a dish to share for the potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Bring bad DVDs, videotapes or books to exchange or give away. Use the entrance to the Elk Lodge that is on Will Dodge Way, between East Main Street and Lithia Way. Admission is $4; parking is free. See www.badfilmsociety.org.
