This is the fourth year for the Ashland Student Assistance Program (ASAP). Last year Ashland High School students benefited from hundreds of hours of volunteer services provided by volunteer counselors and therapists. The ASAP program is a great opportunity for counselors to become better acquainted with the school community and to assist young people and their families at a critical period in their lives. An ASAP orientation meeting open to mental health professionals will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, at the Ashland High School main office. For more information call, 482-8771. Scuba classes at YMCA The YMCA is offering internationally recognized YScuba open-water classes through master diver level. YScuba classes are tonight through Sept. 22. Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fees are $275 for Y members, $325 for the community at the Ashland Family YMCA.
