Ashland Woman Arrested After Deliberately Hitting Person in Wheelchair With Car and Fleeing Scene Crime & Courts By Diane Megaw On Jun 13, 2025 ASHLAND, Ore. — Ashland Police arrested 22-year-old Lola Jackson of Ashland on Thursday in connection with the June 7 intentional assault and hit-and-run of a person in a motorized wheelchair. On June 7, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a person in a motorized wheelchair was deliberately struck by a vehicle driven by Jackson near 615 Clay St. The intentional assault by Jackson caused the victim in the wheelchair to be thrown from the wheelchair and sustain injuries. The victim was taken to Rogue Regional Medical Center by Ashland Fire & Rescue, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. Jackson fled the scene before officers’ arrival, and an “attempt to locate” (ATL) was issued for the felony assault and unlawful use of a weapon (the vehicle). After a diligent search, the Ashland Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) found and arrested Jackson on Thursday at a residence on Phelps Street in Ashland. Jackson faces felony charges of: Reckless Driving Hit & Run-Injury Assault 2nd Degree Unlawful use of a Weapon Vehicular Assault of a Pedestrian   Jackson was lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
