Negroni Week is an international charitable event in which bars across the world donate a portion of every Negroni sold to a nonprofit of their choosing. This is the first year that Ashland is participating in Negroni Week. Launched in 2013, Negroni Week is an international celebration of the Negroni cocktail. A Negroni is gin, Campari and sweet vermouth, served up or on the rocks, with an orange peel garnish. By 2015, more than 3,500 venues in 44 countries mixed their favorite Negronis and raised more than $321,000 for charitable causes. For more information, visit www.negroniweek.com . “It’s a chance for bartenders to give back to their community while celebrating a classic cocktail," said Nick Rementeria, bartender at Alchemy Restaurant. "We’re supporting Rogue Valley Farm to School because their mission to educate Southern Oregonians about local organic food is in line with our focus on serving local organic food, and we greatly appreciate the work they do in teaching children about Southern Oregon agriculture.” To support Negroni Week, visit a participating restaurant and order a Negroni. Larks is supporting the Ashland Emergency Food Bank, The Loft Brasserie Restaurant is supporting the Jackson County Animal Shelter, Peerless Restaurant is supporting the Modern Roots Foundation, and Public House is supporting Dancing People Company.
