The event is open to artists working with paint and pastels. No photography or digital art is allowed. Outdoor painting is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Paschal Winery and Vineyards, 1122 Suncrest Road, Talent. Outdoor painting is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in and around downtown Talent or in the surrounding countryside. Finished work is eligible to be sold and entered into an art contest. Cash awards are $500 for first place, $250 for second place, $125 for third place and $100 for a People's Choice award. The participation fee is $25 for one day or $40 for both days. Schneider Museum of Art: Free Family Day activities are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the museum, located uphill from the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Indiana Street on the Southern Oregon University campus in Ashland. All are invited to work with guest artist Summer Ventis to create work inspired by the Columbia River Shadows photogram show on view in the Museum and artist Tannaz Farsi’s outdoor installation. Activities tie in with the museum's current exhibit, "In Scene," which runs through June 11 and features eight artists who explore the state of the natural world in modern times through video, installation, site-specific outdoor installation, sculpture and photograms. Wagner St. The fair includes wine, beer, spirits, food, live music, art, vendors and crafters. Complimentary event transportation is provided by Bacchus Tours. The musical line-up includes TC & The Reactions from 12:15 to 1 p.m., The Brothers Reed from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m., Bret Levick from 3 to 4:15 p.m. and LOVEBITE with Cornflower from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Fair entry without tastings is $9. Mountain Ave., Ashland. The concert will explore the new choral music from Japan and China.
