--> --> Dean Thornton Hunter Dean Thornton Hunter, 80, of Ashland died Friday, November 30, 2001. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home in Ashland. Rev. John Braund, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Dean was born August 6, 1922 in Kemmerer, Wyo., to William and Thornton Hunter. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II with time spent in Australia and the Far East. He graduated from the University of California in Berkeley in 1951, majoring in Geology. Mr. Hunter worked for two major oil companies as a geophysicist for 35 years, spending time in Indonesia and Trinidad. In 1950, Mr. Hunter married Pauline Miriam Ahelman, who survives. Survivors other than his wife include his brother William of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and James. Email your...
