--> --> JPR show nabs `Best Daily' honor from NPR Ashland Daily Tidings The Jefferson Daily, the afternoon daily news magazine by Jefferson Public Radio was recently honored as the Best Daily New Program for 2000 by a national organization representing National Public Radio and other public radio stations. The award, called the PRNDI, was given by Public Radio News Directors, Inc. in late July. The PRNDI award is the latest in six statewide awards given to JPR's news department for news coverage last year, given by the Oregon Associated Press. The news staff at JPR consists primarily of volunteers, Southern Oregon University students and Ashland High School students under the guidance of News Director Lucy Edwards. "We have an incredibly talented and dedicated group here," Edwards said in a written statement. "They are consistently award-winners. At times we are overwhelmed by the task of putting out a daily program, but really the work is such a privilege. We are thrilled by the PRNDI (award)." Email your...
