Discussion on Native American issues Steve Traisman and Rico Herrera will lead "Genocide in America," a discussion on the "Native American Holocaust," at 7 p.m. Friday at Havurah Shir Hadash, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Other topics will include a discussion by Dean Royce on efforts to gain release for Leonard Peltier, honoring treaties made with Native American Nations, and how the issues relate to the goals of the Ralph Nader-Winona LaDuke presidential ticket. A $5 donation is suggested, all proceeds to fund the Nader-LaDuke campaign. The public is welcome. Music will be provided by local musician Libby Goines. There also will be a video presentation on last month's Ashland Country Fair/Native Arts Native Ways, including Rabbi Marc Sirinsky's talk on the Jewish perception of the natural world.
