Alma L. Mitchell The memorial service for Alma L. Mitchell is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland. Mrs. Mitchell, 85, of Ashland, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at Providence Medford Medical Center. She was born Dec. 11, 1914 in Noble, Ark., the daughter of Tommy Myers and the former Josephine Verbel. On Dec. 2, 1930 at Noble, she married Charles Leonard Mitchell, who preceded her in death in 1974. The couple moved to Ashland in 1943, where Mrs. Mitchell worked in food service for the Ashland School District until her 1975 retirement. Survivors include her son, Cleatis Mitchell of Clackamas; daughter Ramona G. Fletcher of Reno, Nev.; sisters Helen Childers of Arkansas, and Goldie Whitson of Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Jerry and Winston Mitchell. Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
