Here's a look at where to go and when: A free shuttle service will run every 30 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. from Tolman Creek Plaza Albertsons to the downtown bus stop on Lithia Way between First and Second streets. Events begin at 7:45 a.m. with the two-mile and 10-kilometer runs. Both begin outside the Ashland Library at 410 Siskiyou Blvd. Last-chance registration runs from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. that morning at the start line.  The Fourth of July Parade begins at 10 a.m., led by grand marshals Dan Bulkley and Stan Smith. Both are figures in the Ashland community who embody the theme of this year's parade: "Be Active, Live Healthy." Bulkley has been a professor and track coach at Southern Oregon University and was one of the original Snowmen at Mount Ashland, while Smith, also know as "Mr. Raider" for never missing an SOU home football game, is a U.S. Navy veteran and the oldest living member of the undefeated 1946 SOU football team. The parade begins at Triangle Park and will make its way down Siskyou Boulevard to East Main, finishing at Water Street. Meanwhile, the Booth and Craft Fair in Lithia Park begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. Kids will have lots of free opportunities for fun, including face painting and an obstacle course. The Ashland High Robotics Club also will showcase its award-winning robots, and Treehouse Books will be launching its new superhero game. There will also be a variety of food and craft booths, and the College Fund Street band will be performing in the Ice Rink Parking Lot throughout the afternoon. Across from Lithia Park at the Community Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. will be the Irene Hollenbeck Memorial Wildflower Show put on by the Native Plant Society of Oregon. From noon to 4 p.m. the Butler Bandshell in the park will come alive with music. First up is the Ashland City Band, which performs from noon to 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 to 1:30 p.m. The band will be followed by Chapter II from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m., the Jefferson State Choral Coalition from 2:30 to 3 p.m. and Steven Swan and Blue Sunday from 3:15 to 4 p.m. Livia Genise of Camelot Theatre Company will emcee.  Mayor John Stromberg gives his welcome address at the bandshell at 12:30 p.m. At 1 p.m., Buzz Fraser will read the Declaration of Independence, and Bob Jackson Miner will deliver the Gettysburg Address as Abraham Lincoln at the bandshell. After the other festivities wind down, the American Band College will perform in the 27th Annual Star Spangled Spectacular at the Ashland High School football stadium at 8 p.m. The band is made up of more than 200 members in Sam Houston State University's  master's degree program. Tickets cost $24, $20 for seniors, and can be purchased online at bandworld.org or at the stadium. Gates open at 6:30 p.m; $5 per ticket will be donated to assist in funding the fireworks show by the American Band College. Finally, see the fireworks light up the night at 10 p.m. The show will be launched from the Southern Oregon University athletic field, but will be visible from most parts of Ashland.
