Wilma Virginia "Peggy" Bridges Wilma Virginia "Peggy" Bridges, 83, of Talent, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at her home where she lived with her husband, Bob, until his death in 2001. Since her husband's death, she remained in her home where she was cared for by her daughter. Mrs. Bridges was born in Union City, Wash., on Feb. 19, 1920, to Bertha and Bert Stanley. She was the adopted daughter of Mary and William Terry and lived in Bellingham, Wash., until 1963. At that time she married Bob Bridges and moved to Lacey, Wash., and then to Anchorage, Alaska, where the couple resided for 37 years prior to moving to Oregon. Mrs. Bridges graduated from Bellingham High School (now Whatcom Middle School) in 1938. She then entered Success Business College where she graduated in 1940. Her previous employment was as credit manager for Bellingham Credit Bureau, Wahl's Department Store and St. Joseph Hospital. While residing in Anchorage, she was employed by Montgomery Ward and Anchorage Community Hospital. A past member of the Credit Women's Association in Bellingham, Mrs. Bridges was also a member of the Moose, Elks and Alaska Shrine Waheed Court. She enjoyed knitting, baking, fishing and traveling. Her primary enjoyment was being alongside her husband. Survivors include: her daughter, Joan Paulsen, of Talent; four step-daughters: Judy Brodeur and Jennifer Rieger of Ashland, Sandra Evenson of Salem and Michelle Nanney from Southern California; four step-sons including Ted Bridges of Bellevue, Wash., Jim Bridges of Redmond, Wash., Phil Bridges of Olympia, Wash., and Chuck Bridges of Phoenix; three sisters: Lona Lyddam of Bellingham, Wash., Verna Hall of Tacoma, Wash., and Jewell Dunston of Seattle, Wash.; in addition to 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five nieces and two nephews. Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her adopted parents and a sister, Dottie Buchanen. A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Oak Valley Retirement Community Center in Talent. Hospice Chaplain Rev. John Braund will officiate the service. A graveside devotion reuniting "Peggy and Bob" will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland. Stella Anne Marshall Stella Anne Marshall, 83, of Ashland, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at her residence. Arrangements are under the direction of the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home and Crematory in Ashland.
