The New Autonomous Folksingers played every Thursday night from 2002 to 2007 at The Wild Goose. The band occasionally reunites to perform its annual rendition of Willie Nelson's "Red Headed Stranger" and play as one of the opening acts at the annual West Coast Country Music Festival. Admission is free. Find the band on Facebook and at http://thenafs.weebly.com.   Southern Oregon Songwriters Association   Jack Fischer will be the featured songwriter at the open mic session hosted by the Southern Oregon Songwriters. The session is at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Pony Espresso, 545 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville. A past president of SOSA and a longtime member of the songwriting community, Fischer has co-produced and recorded many albums, including three by his band Penguins on a Rock. Fischer is a winner of the 1997 TNN Country Song Contest, the 1998 Univision Song Contest, and he was a finalist in the 2000 John Lennon Song Contest. Fischer's songs range from intimate reflections to rhythmic choral arrangements. His song "Zanzibar" is featured on SOSA's 2008 sampler CD. Admission is free. Sign-ups are at 5:45 p.m.     Gipsy Kings with Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo   Fronted for 25 years by songwriters and producers Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo, Gipsy Kings create music that crosses all borders. From its 1987 debut album — which introduced South America’s rumba rhythm married to a fleet attack of flamenco guitars — to its newest, "Savor Flamenco," the group's sound reflects the constant travel and diverse influences of Gypsy heritage. Gipsy Kings performs at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 First St., Jacksonville. Flamenco artists Grant Ruiz, Berto Boyd and Elena Villa will perform at 6 p.m. in Britt's Performance Garden. Tickets cost $67 for reserved seats, $42 for lawn, $32 for ages 12 and younger, $288 for premium blanket seating for four, $144 for premium blanket seating for two, and can be purchased at the Britt box office, 216 W. Main St., Medford, online at brittfest.org or by calling 800-882-7488.   "Weird Al" Yankovic   The Grammy Award-winning parody singer will perform songs from his 2014 album "Mandatory Fun" and others at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Britt Pavilion, 350 First St., Jacksonville. "Mandatory Fun" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top 200, the first time a comedy album has topped the chart in history. The album also set a record for having the most tracks from one album in the Top 10 on Spotify. The album features parodies of the biggest hits of the past year, including Pharrell Williams' "Happy" ("Tacky"), Lorde's "Royals" (Fouil"), Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" ("Handy") and Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" ("Inactive"). DJ Gemineye will spin music at 6 p.m. in Britt's Performance Garden. Food trucks from Back Porch Bar and Grill and C Street Bistro will be on site. Tickets cost $45 for reserved, $35 for lawn, $29 for ages 12 and younger, $166 for premium blanket seating for four, $94 for premium blanket seating for two, and can be purchased at the Britt box office, 216 W. 'The Last 5 Years'  With book, music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown, "The Last Five Years," tells the intimate tale of two ambitious New Yorkers — writer Jamie Wellerstein and struggling actress Cathy Hiatt — who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The musical's unconventional structure allows Wellerstein to tell his story in chronological order while Hiatt's story is told in reverse. The two characters meet only once, at their wedding in the middle of the show. The show previews Thursday, Sept. 3, opens Friday, Sept. 4, and runs through Oct. 4 at Camelot Theatre, 101 Talent Ave., Talent.
