The theme of this year's readings is Order and Chaos; the first reading is Shakespeare's "Macbeth." The program meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 1:30 p.m. The discussion program, based on the shared inquiry method, emphasizes close reading and critical thinking. "We learn from the book and from each other; the talk is always lively and stimulating," says Eleanore Perkins of the American Association of University Women, which sponsors the project. Selections for this year's series are available in an anthology ($18) published by the Great Books Foundation. Ashland author at Bloomsbury Thursday, Oct. 7, 7:30 p.m. - Lost and Found: My Life In a Group Marriage Commune by Margaret Hollenbach In 1970 Margaret Hollenbach, an idealistic twenty-five year old graduate school dropout, changed her name and gave up her possessions to join a commune know as The Family, located in Taos, New Mexico. The Family believed in "group marriage" and practiced its own version of Gestalt therapy, sometimes coercively. Hollenbach spent only a few months in this intense environment, but the lessons she learned have shaped her life. She tells the story of the young woman she was then in an unsparingly honest memoir.
