Coulson from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, in the Angus Bowmer Theatre. Recognizing that many in the community will want to attend, the event will be free but ticketed, OSF officials said in a news release. Those interested in attending can reserve two tickets by calling the box office at 800-219-8161. Coulson, an actor with OSF for 22 seasons, died Sept. 28 after a battle with cancer. A stage and screen actor, she was best known for role as The Log Lady in David Lynch’s cult classic "Twin Peaks." Her first season at OSF was in 1994, and she performed in more than 50 productions throughout her 22 seasons with OSF. Among her favorite roles were Clara Stepaneck in "The Magic Fire" (1997 at OSF, 1998 at the Kennedy Center); Dr. E.M. Ashford in "Wit" (2000), Catherine in Robert Schenkkan’s "By the Waters of Babylon" (2005), a part written for her by the playwright; Mrs. Gottlieb in "Dead Man’s Cell Phone" (2009); Big Mama in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (2010); Mattie Fae Aiken in "August: Osage County" (2011); Granny, Giant and Milky White in "Into the Woods" (2014); and Gen. Matilda B. Cartwright and ensemble in "Guys and Dolls" (2015). In a tribute written in American Theatre magazine, OSF Artistic Director Bill Rauch and actor and director Christopher Liam Moore wrote: “It has been so painful to lose this community leader, this cherished colleague, and especially this close friend. For those of you who knew her — well, you know. For those of you who didn’t, just look into the spirited eyes of those of us who loved her as we talk about her. You’ll get a clear sense of what Catherine E. Coulson brought to our field and to the world.” To read the complete tribute, click here .
