Man Dies of Gunshot Wounds Despite Efforts by a Portland Policeman to Resuscitate Him Crime & Courts By Lucille McNamara On Jul 21, 2025 PORTLAND, Ore. — A man has died of gunshot wounds despite attempts by a Portland North Precinct police sergeant to resuscitate him on the scene in the 9300 block of North Newman Avenue. Police responded to reports of a shooting at 11.04 a.m. yesterday (Sunday) and on their arrival found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.
