THURS Author Event: Jonathan Goldman will speak about his book "Gift of the Body: A Multi-Dimensional Guide to Energy Anatomy, Grounded Spirituality and Living Through the Heart" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Bloomsbury Books, 290 E. FRI Tesla Quartet: Chamber Music Concerts will present the Tesla Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, and 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Winners of national and international music competitions, the quartet will perform Matthew Bowne’s "Great Danger, Keep Out," Erberk Eryilmaz’s Miniatures Set No. 4, Bela Bartok’s String Quartet No. 6, and Antonin Dvorak’s String Quartet. Saturday’s performance includes Franz Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet, Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet, Linus Köhring’s "7 Aphorismen," and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet. Tickets cost $30 or $35, $5 for students and Oregon Trail Card holders. SAT Learn to Play Bridge: The Dan Voorhies Bridge Center will offer a Duplicate Bridge Seminar from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at 4149 S. Pacific Highway, Phoenix.
