Graham led the Grizzlies (11-3-1) to a second-place finish in their first season in the seven-team Midwestern League. Ashland has advanced to the 5A state quarterfinals for the first time since 2008 after Tuesday’s 3-2 road win over Corvallis. Churchill’s Colin Hay was named coach of the year after guiding the Lancers to the league title. Graham and Ashland junior Calysta Susu-Mago were both voted first-team all conference. Earning second-team honors for the Grizzlies were junior Ianthe Balbuena-Nedrow, senior Jessica Harrower and senior goalkeeper Sydney Norvell. Ashland also had three honorable mentions — freshman Mya Elder-Hammond, junior Lilly Patton and senior Hannah Teixeira. Churchill and Marist also had five MWL all stars, with Churchill netting a league-high four first-team selections.
