LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Letters to the Editor, Nov. 26 DailyTidings.com Writer Posted Nov. 26, 2014 @ 2:00 am Updated Nov 28, 2014 at 12:24 PM Posted Nov. 26, 2014 @ 2:00 am Updated Nov 28, 2014 at 12:24 PM » Social News For the love of animals Give your loving pets the gift of caring. Make sure your pets have warm, dry shelter from the cold weather, and fresh, clean, unfrozen water daily. Prevent overpopulation of dogs and cats, and save animals from having to be put down because their aren’t enough homes for them. Have your pets spayed or neutered. Most importantly, make sure you understand the needs of a pet, and the time and expense involved before you adopt. It’s a lifetime commitment with huge rewards. Lastly, if you are considering adding a new pet to your family, save a life. Choose one of the many special dogs and cats waiting to be adopted at our local shelters. Leslee Freeman, Ashland Support the SOU pool My daughter, a local high school student, has benefited greatly from her participation in both water polo and swimming. These tremendously physical sports build strength, self-confidence and discipline, along with the sense of belonging. And when someone finds that “their sport” is in the pool, the thought of permanently losing that asset is troubling, to say the least. This evening my family and I counted at least a dozen teams and organizations that will find themselves without a home, if the SOU pool is left out of remodeling plans. I urge you to speak up in support of the SOU pool, before it is too late.
