--> --> Appreciation of AFN, and looking forward to its future In his letter to The Tidings, Steve Shapiro wrote that every time he reads something about AFN, it's negative. So I'm writing to give him something positive to read. Thanks to AFN, there is a little competition for these services in the valley, and we all benefit from that competition. As a former subscriber to Charter, I can say without reservation that the AFN Internet signal has never been down, seems faster, and the TV programming has always been available when we wanted it. I can't say these things regarding our experience with Charter. Wherever I speak in the U.S., I talk about the great features of our wonderful community, and AFN is surely one of them. People tell me how impressed they are that Ashland had the vision and foresight to create a broad band network for our area businesses and citizens. We're a wired community that's ready for the challenges and changes of this new century.
