He was born July 20, 1930 in Massachusetts, to Allen Lightbody Hamlin and Margaret (Frankland) Hamlin. His family traces it's ancestry back to the Mayflower. In 1954 Henry married Charlotte Mary Brash. Henry graduated from the University of Connecticut, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Henry worked for Chas. W. House and Sons, Inc., a New England textile mill, retiring as President and Chairman of the company. After Charlotte passed away, Henry moved to Ashland, Ore. in 2004, where he joined the Siskiyou Singers and the Rogue Valley Peace Choir. Henry is survived by his five children, daughter, Martha Brierley; and sons, Gordon, Allen, Arthur, and Andrew; also 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Those who wish may pay their respects at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Pioneer Hall in Lithia Park. A family memorial service will be held at a later date in Simsbury, Connecticut, where Henry will be laid to rest beside his wife Charlotte in the Simsbury Cemetery.
