The Raiders (26-15) handcuffed the Beacons by limiting them to five hits in 14 innings, and the lone run allowed was unearned. Meanwhile, senior all-star shortstop Kara Ray paced the 18-hit SOU attack by going 4-for-6, while junior Tanisha Burch assembled a 3-for-5 line. Junior outfielder Leann Foster socked her third home run of the year in Game 1 — a solo shot to left off former Crater High standout Jenni Bittle. Miranda Gillaspie (14-5) won her ninth straight decision by working six innings of two-hit ball in Game 1, while Julianne Cree (7-6) pitched four innings and allowed one hit for the Game 2 win. Southern returns to Cascade Conference action Friday at home against Albertson College.
