(Larry) Corbin Laurence G. (Larry) Corbin passed away April 18, 2015 in Medford, Ore. Larry was born August 23, 1936 in Spokane, Wash. He grew up in Spokane and Seattle, attended the University of Washington and the University of California at Berkeley. His work as an IT specialist included programming, systems analysis, and management for a retail grocery chain, and later for a consortium of city, county, and university libraries in Spokane. After retirement, Larry and his wife Judith (Judy) spent ten years as snowbirds traveling between the Arizona desert and Spokane. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 2005. Larry was a sports enthusiast, as a player, coach, and fan. He rode bikes of many kinds, skied the moguls, sailed the lakes, hiked the mountains, played ball - baseball, racquetball, tennis, softball. And then there was golf - a game of life with quiet passion. Rumor has it that his short game may be up for bid. His love of books fed his curiosity about history, other cultures, mystery and adventure. He was a devoted volunteer at the Friends of the Medford Library bookshop. Larry was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, Rogue Valley Country Club, OLLI Lifelong Learning at SOU, Genealogy Library and OSF. Larry and Judy traveled extensively, leaving footprints in Europe and other parts of the world. Married 57 years, Larry and Judy treasured their large and precious family. Their three children include Cynthia Drake (Dan), James Corbin (Patricia), and Pamela Dolan (Brian); grandchildren, Bryce Ault (Bethany), Rachel Adams (Tony), Natalie, Mitchell, Daniel, Joseph, and William Corbin, and Katy Dolan; step-grandchildren, Michelle Froehlich (Mike) and Nick Drake (Heather); and great-grandchildren, Sydne, Lauryn, and Rylee Ault, Avery and Evan Adams, Andrew and Xalia Corbin, Brennen and Haiden Froehlich, Tristan and Jack Drake. A private family celebration of Larry’s life will be held in Spokane at a later date. Remembrances may be made to Friends of the Medford Library or Asante Hospice Foundation.
