Doric String Quartet: Chamber Music Concerts presents the UK-based Doric String Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8 and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall, Ashland. T he Doric String Quartet’s Friday performance will feature Haydn’s String Quartet in B Minor, Op. 64 no. 2; Korngold’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 26; and Beethoven’s String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 132. Saturday’s program includes Haydn’s String Quartet in G Major, Op. 64 no. 4; Janacek’s String Quartet no. 1 “Kreutzer Sonata;” and Schubert’s String Quartet in G Major, D. 887. The young violinists range in age from elementary through high school student, along with alumni. Siskiyou Violins has earned gold medals for its performances at Carnegie Hall and the Los Angeles International Music Festival. Admission is free, and donations will be accepted.
