Brian was born in Medford, Ore. November 15, 1977. He came up through the Ashland School District where he was an enthusiastic member of both the Mt. Ashland Racing Association and later the Ashland High School Ski Team and Tennis Team. He went on to major in philosophy at the University of Oregon, and of course became an avid Duck football fan. Later, he earned degrees in both Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine through the Oregon Institute of Technology. Most recently, he was working at the Sleep Medicine Center at Providence Hospital in Medford. Brian loved reading, especially books of ideas, along with his skiing, hiking, river rafting, and kayaking adventures. At the time of his death, he was doing what he loved most: a holiday outing with a group of good friends. Brian is survived by his parents, Drew and Sandy Fletcher of Ashland; his grandmother, Virginia Caldwell Hibbs of Medford; his grandmother, Eileen Hudson of Santa Clarita, Calif.; his brother, Andrew Fletcher, Andrew's wife, Tiffany, and Andrew's 4-year-old son, Andy, all currently of North Bend. The family will always treasure this last Christmas when we were all together watching Uncle Brian playing cars and trucks with his nephew Andy. Brian was a kind, caring, fun-loving person who is mourned by both his family and many good friends. Friends have written to tell the family how Brian was always so positive, with a kind word to lift you up and make you laugh. We all hope to capture a little bit of the joy Brian took in life, and we will always treasure the joy we took in having this wonderful man as a part of our lives. Brian, we all, family and friends, love you and miss you more than words can ever express. Brian was laid to rest next to his grandfather, Erskine Caldwell, at Scenic Hills Memorial Park in Ashland. His family is planning to have a memorial service for him in late spring or early summer.
