Roseburg Dog Trainer Sentenced to More than Three Years in Jail for Animal Neglect Crime & Courts By Lucille McNamara On May 2, 2025 ROSEBURG, Ore. — A Roseburg dog training company owner has been sentenced to more than three years in Douglas County Jail after pleading no contest to two charges of first-degree animal neglect. Haden Dorsey (45) was investigated by the Roseburg Police Department in 2022 for multiple complaints of animal abuse lodged by the owners of dogs sent to his training school. The owners told police that their dogs had been seriously injured while in Dorsey’s care, suffering a variety of abuse that included stomach ruptures and infections. Court records show that on 25 January 2023, Dorsey was arraigned on five charges of first-degree animal neglect. Three other charges were dismissed, and a separate trespassing charge was dismissed in a plea deal. On 30 April 2025, he pleaded no contest to two of the charges for which he was sentenced to 113 days imprisonment in the Douglas County Jail, with 18 months of bench probation.
