Jackson Richmond, a senior at Ashland High School, was honored at the Rotary meeting on Feb. 19. Jackson is the student body co-president and president of the Ashland High Drama Club. Jackson's interest in drama and the theater have led him to perform in 10 main stage productions, including "Cabaret" and "West Side Story." Ashland High School Principal Michelle Zundell underscored Jackson's drama accomplishments and said, "He just brought home loads of ribbons" from regional acting competitions. Jackson's academic credentials are equally impressive with a 3.95 grade point average. He is taking advanced placement classes in mathematics and Spanish language and has participated in the Leadership Class. He has been in five advanced placement classes since his freshman year. He is on the Ashland High math team and recently found that he is in the running for a mathematics scholarship. He hopes to attend Brown University in Rhode Island, an Ivy League school.
