Thursday, Nov. 26 Interfaith Service: The 32nd annual Thanksgiving Interfaith Celebration will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, in Wesley Hall, behind the First Methodist Church, 175 N. Main St., Ashland. The service will include speakers from many different faiths. The theme this year: "Reaching Out, Helping Others." A collection will be taken of sleeping bags for the homeless. Nia Thanksgiving DanceFeast: The 16th annual Nia Thanksgiving DanceFeast will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, at The DanceSpace, 280 E. Hersey, No. 10, Ashland. The holiday dance ritual, for which no experience is necessary, will be led by Nia faculty member Rachael R. Resch. Friday, Nov. 27 Ashland Festival of Light: Ashland's 23rd annual Festival of Light kicks off Friday, Nov. 27. The big event is the annual Christmas Parade at 5 p.m., followed by the Grand Illumination, when thousands of lights are switched on for the holidays in downtown Ashland. People start getting ready for the festivities at 1 p.m. with entertainment on the Plaza, and at 4:30 p.m. there will be a Lights for Life tree lighting. From 6:15 to 8 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet with families and children at the Black Swan Theater, on the corner of Pioneer and East Main. See www.ashlandchamber.com . Woodworking Show and Sale: The Siskiyou Woodcraft Guild presents its 36th Annual Harvest Show of Fine Woodworking from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, in the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Great Hall, 70 E. 'A Christmas Carol': A new version of Charles Dickens' classic, adapted by managing director Rick Robinson and directed by artistic director Valerie Rachelle, will be presented at Oregon Cabaret Theatre, First and Hargadine streets, Ashland. The show previews Thursday, Nov. 19, opens Friday, Nov. 20, and runs through Dec. 31. Curtain is at 8 p.m. evenings, 1 p.m. for matinees. Preview tickets are $21, all other shows are $35.
