--> Painting class offered Ashland Art Institute will host a watercolor painting class with Robbie Laird from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 - 5. The cost is $375. For those intermediate/ advanced painters who want to get over their fear of the big, white sheet of paper, this workshop will present strategies for approaching large paintings with confidence. Emphasis will be on using highly saturated color, controlling wet-into-wet areas, and creating stronger compositions. Each day will include demonstration or lecture/discussion on making large paintings. A past president, member of the board of directors, and director of workshops of the San Diego Watercolor Society, Laird has been involved in sharing and teaching for many years.
