Wildish Standard Paving of Eugene is working on an access road so its crews can get from Crowson to the site of the Siskiyou Rest Area-Welcome Center near milepost 12. Wildish and its sub-contractors are drilling and setting pile for a retaining wall just east of the interstate bridge. Work on this part of the project is expected to continue through end of February, causing intermittent single-lane traffic control on Crowson. The $6.3 million first phase focuses on putting in ramps and roads for the new facility. Rest area and welcome center buildings will be put in during the second phase next year.
