The location is the same, in the parking lot of the National Guard Armory on Wightman Street at East Main Street, but the following are new: • Local creators of new health and beauty items abound, with Soul Soap Works of Ashland offering Rainbow Dough, a play-dough with food grade colorants and therapeutic-grade essential oils, including lemon, orange, rose, lavender, sage, sweet almond and vitamin E, which soften skin, says owner-creator Kelly Sigalove. Her Coconut & Kombucha Soap is a topical probiotic skin care for eczema and dry and irritated skin, while her Honey Soaps are humectants (hold in moisture). Kombucha & Honey bath bombs, she says, have essential oils and make the bath fizzy. Her line of Tipsy Soaps are also anti-oxidant, and made with local wines, Bridgeview and Quady North, but with alcohol removed. • Crystal Sharp of Ashland offers natural-dyed soap, hand-dyed yarn and beeswax candles. She is sharing a booth with 4 + 20 Bakery, whose new owner, Shawna Hannan, is at the market for the first time, with her array of muffins, scones and cakes. • Windborne Farms of Fort Jones, Calif., grows dry corn, treated with lime and offers fresh-pressed tortillas or raw masa to press your own, says owner Jennifer Green, adding that, made fresh like this, they taste “totally different” and more delicious. • Also of Fort Jones, Mill Creek Nest Eggs are being sold by James and Molly Brodie from their 170 “heritage breed” hens. They are fed non-GMO and soy free feed — and lots of grass and bugs, he says. • Former Standing Stone chef Eric Bell has acquired the food truck once used by Blue Toba and will offer a range of organic salmon, mussels, calamari and other fish in tacos, fish and chips, salads and soups. • Earth & Sky Family Farm in Phoenix is selling organic apples, pears, Asian pears, apricots, plums and pluots. Bunny Power Products of Central Point offers organic rabbit fertilizer to “power up” your garden. Lavender Farm in the Applegate offers wreaths, oils, balms, candles, ceramics, cut flowers, jams. Market-goers will still have to use porta-potties on site, as the National Guard Armory problem with lead from an indoor firing range is not yet resolved, says Mary Ellen De Luca, director of the Tuesday Market, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Saturday Growers Market on Oak Street in Ashland will open May 7.
