In this belief of the One, comes other commonalities of what God is: • Omnipotent — all powerful. • Omnipotent — all knowing. • Omnipresent — everywhere present, all the time. • Loves unconditionally. After all, if God were not all of the attributes listed, the One would not truly be a God. It would be something less. But so often in our interpretations of the One, we make our understanding of God something less that what God is. “God has no religion.” — attributed to Gandhi In the Great Traditions, we find a commonality that each have their own path(s) to God. For anyone to say they have an exclusive key to the One is forgetting that God is everywhere present. If this is true, we do not need to search for God somewhere else but simply remember that God is always everywhere present. We sometimes forget that. In our Western way of thinking, we tend to let our intellect try to find a solution to our problems. Intelligence is a wonderful thing and, when used wisely, it is a great tool. However, when we desire something we want to tell the One how to go about bringing it to us. I would love to say I have the intellect to coordinate the infinite number of variables needed for two people to meet out of the billions of people on the planet. The correct use of the Law of Attraction is that we simply hold in our minds what we want and let the infinite intelligence of God handle the details. God is all powerful. As straight forward as this is, many beliefs and dogmas say there are other “powers.” However, if that were true then God is truly not a God but limited in power. Where then would the limited power of God and the power of the “other” come from? There can be only one infinite, not two. (Although mathematically it can be demonstrated that two infinites can exist, but then the question again rises, what allows the two “infinites” to exist?) Ultimately there can only be the One. Let’s endeavor to remember this in our daily lives. In my book, “A Spiritual Master’s Guide to Life,” I define Love as “the result of the One recognizing Itself in its Creation.” Here we must remember that there is only the One, and that if there is only the One and NOTHING else, all must be a creation of, and out of, the One. God cannot create something outside of Itself as then there would be God and something else. Then God would not be a god. Therefore, this entire universe and everything in it, all the intelligence, the beauty, the Living beings, and the magnificence is the emanation of one God. God sees the reflection of itself and infinite love is the result. Think of the love you have for your children and this would be only a minute resemblance of Infinite and Unconditional Love. So if the Love of God is truly unconditional, and it has to be as a God cannot love conditionally (if It could, then It would not truly be a God), then we can release the idea of God being judgmental, revengeful, emotional, evoking punishment, having favoritism, etc. These are all human constructs made up in an effort to separate and elevate oneself from another tribe. Truly not the actions of (a) God. Does this mean that God loves a terrorist as much as God loves you? The essence of the terrorist and the essence of you both emanated from the One. Our actions are a result of the individual’s choice and use of intelligence. God neither ordains nor condemns any actions. We are all like children learning in this physical world. Does this mean we permit such terrorists actions in society? Absolutely not. However, as we seek to contain those and their actions, we must realize that at the core everyone has the same Consciousness of God. We would be well served to always remember and look for the divine essence in all. Please know that God is right where you are, you have done nothing “wrong” or offensive, there is nothing to forgive, and nothing you need do to earn the Love of God. God loves you unconditionally.
