--> --> Fire danger rated `high' Ashland Daily Tidings The Oregon Department of Forestry announced the area has entered high fire danger today, a month ahead of schedule. Beginning Saturday, a number of restrictions designed to reduce fire danger will go into effect, including: Open burning; campfires except in designated areas; fireworks in areas of flammable vegetation; vehicle use on roads with flammable vegetation; and smoking in wildlands outside of vehicles are prohibited. Between 1 and 8 p.m., public chain saw use; non-agricultural mowing of dry grass; cutting, welding and grinding of metal in areas of flammable vegetation; and non-agricultural, non-commercial use of power machinery in areas of flammable vegetation are prohibited as well. For commercial and industrial forest operations on lands protected by the department, the Industrial Fire Precaution Level will remain at Level 1. Email your...
