Medford Woman Sues Carnival Operator for $600k After Being Thrown from Ride at Rogue Valley Mall Crime & Courts By Diane Megaw On Feb 11, 2025 MEDFORD, Ore. — A Jackson County woman, Rachal Martinez-Orozco, 35, has filed a lawsuit seeking $600,000 from Davis Shows, the Medford Mall carnival’s operating company. She alleges she was thrown from a ride at Medford’s Rogue Valley Mall on April 22, 2023. In her Jackson County Circuit Court court filings of January 28 this year, Martinez-Orozco indicates that she was thrown off an unspecified amusement ride while exiting. She said she was exiting the ride when it suddenly roared back to life, throwing her to the ground. The lawsuit alleges she suffered cuts, bruises, and a concussion. The Rogue Valley Mall, which hosts several carnival rides operated by Davis Shows every April, has not yet filed its response in court.
