Main St., Ashland. Movie settings include Oregon, Chile, Greenland, Iceland, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Libya, Italy and Sweden. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $7 for AIFF members, students and active military personnel with identification and children. Tickets are available at the Varsity Theatre and catheatres.com. Friday, Oct. 3 Ashland Zombie Walk Gather at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in front of the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., in zombie attire for a walk that begins at 5 p.m. Participants can fill boxes with donations of nonperishable food items for the Ashland Emergency Food Bank. The donations will help prevent Ashland and Talent families from having to choose between "eating and heating" during the cold months ahead. Observers are welcome to bring a donation of food as well and watch the zombie walk as it progresses through downtown Ashland. Enjoy zombie drinks and movies at Oberon's Tavern on the Ashland Paza. Minors are allowed until 8 p.m. Enjoy a mead/wine drink after the walk at The Leaf and Dragon, 33 N. First St. Suite 1, which will be closed during the walk itself. Call 541-662-9483. Saturday, Oct. 4 Bear Creek Salmon Festival View exhibits about healthy salmon habitat and watershed stewardship, attend mini-workshops on topics ranging from water conservation to wildlife, practice fly and spin-casting, explore Bear Creek, listen to American Indian drumming and live music, enjoy a salmon poetry slam and explore a salmon spiral labyrinth from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at North Mountain Park, 620 N. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-5 'Freud’s Last Session' When psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud meets Christian author and Oxford professor C.S. Lewis, the two great minds clash over the subjects of mortality, religion, humor and the difference between good and evil. Lewis is compelled to confess doubts about faith, and Freud, dying of cancer, confronts thoughts of suicide — while Hitler invades Poland and England enters World War II in the backdrop. Mark St. Germain's play explores the hearts, minds and souls of two brilliant men with witty and humorous dialogue. Hold over performances are set for 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-5, at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, Ashland. Sunday, Oct. 5 MiniPalooza & Brazaar A concert and fun bra sale to benefit cancer patient Nita Day will he held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Green Springs Inn & Cabins, 11470 Highway 66, Ashland. Blues singer Karen Lovely and her band will headline the show. Also on the bill are Teri Cote & Rob Tyre, Jeff Stanley and Greensprings' own Rainy and The Rattlesnakes. Admission is a donation of $10, and visitors can find great deals on designer bras. Call 541-890-6435 for information Thursday, Oct. 9 Southern Oregon Pride Festival The three-day Pride Festival in Ashland begins with a drag pageant from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Club 66, 1951 Ashland St. A dance featuring dancing, cocktails, appetizers, and the crowning of Miss SOPride is from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. Advance tickets cost $15 and are available at Paddington Station, 125 E. Main St. Tickets at the door are $20. See www.SOPride.org. A parade down Main Street starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, followed by entertainment and vendor booths at the Lithia Park Bandshell.
