SOU tuition hike OK'd The State Board of Higher Education approved tuition rates for all Oregon University System campuses at the conclusion of a two-day meeting held at Western Oregon University. The board approved tuition rates for the fall 2003-04 and 2004-05 academic years. Increases average 3.3 percent across the system for 2003-04 year and 8.8 percent for the 2004-05 school year. Southern Oregon University resident undergraduate tuition will increase by 3.4 percent or $102 for the 2003-04 academic year and by 12 percent or $378 for the 2004-05 year. Non-resident undergraduate tuition will increase by 8.3 percent or by $906 for 2003-04 and by 8 percent or $945 for 2004-05. SOU resident graduates will see a 9.3 percent or $539 tuition increase for the 2003-04 school year and a 12 percent or $756 increase for the 2004-05 year. Non-resident graduates will face an increase of 7.3 percent or $789 for the 2003-04 year and an 8 percent or $924 increase in 2004-05.
