--> --> Ashland councilman resigns post ASHLAND (AP) - City Councilman David Fine has resigned, but he won't say why. In a letter to the city dated June 15, Fine announced his resignation and wrote: "While I hope to have the pleasure of continuing contact with my colleagues, I will make no further public statement." Earlier this month, the Ashland lawyer said he would return to the council after a short leave of absence. While gone, he took a job as a part-time prosecutor in Pendleton. Reached at the Pendleton prosecutor's office, Fine declined to discuss the reasons for his resignation. Fine was absent without explanation from Tuesday's council meeting, and city officials were unaware he had quit. Email your...
