The mission of the company will be to produce and promote uplifting human consciousness stories that will bridge the latest “Quantum-Science” findings of the West with the parallel “Wisdom Teachings” of the East. The company is currently working on five film and television projects, the first being “Ashland-A State of Mind.” It will be a television series not unlike the popular “Northern Exposure,” wherein, according to Bono, a weary, recently divorced mythology professor leaves the big city and drives cross-country in search of rejuvenation and the quintessential small town. He settles in Ashland, Oregon. Bono said that he originally wrote the pilot script as a 90 minute intro-movie format. “I’m now sculpting it down to the hour pilot format. If all goes according to plan I will be headed down to Los Angeles soon for appointed pitches to several large agencies. Hopefully a few of them will pick up on our ‘Ashland’ show’s unique blending of hip-wisdom, appealing characters and the fresh, exciting visual style. Especially since the latest TV shows with consciousness topics such as ‘Medium’ and ‘Joan of Arcadia’ have been commercially successful.” Bono went onto say that the company hopes to cast locals from Ashland and the Rogue Valley in the many roles that will be available once the pilot is sold and further episodes are ordered up. Vicente, the Ashland-based director of “What the Bleep Do We Know?”, who is currently slated to direct the “Ashland” pilot, stated that the series will show the sweet nature of the town and its people. “There is really some very funny stuff in the pilot that will have people laughing uproariously, and while the series is about a place it is also about the quirky, interesting people in that place.” Bono, pointing to what he characterized as a win-win scenario, stated that Golden Flower Productions hopes to link Los Angeles sources and funding with local investors the intent being to film the pilot and subsequent episodes in “our beautiful local area, thereby putting a lot of people to work, both crew and talent-wise. Since we now have most of the necessary resources available locally, and with the new film-production incentives from the Film Board in Salem, our thinking is, why travel north to Vancouver, Canada where most television shows have been shot in the past? And we have better weather.” Golden Flower Productions also has in the pipeline “Extreme Nirvana,” a movie that will “open the 3rd-eye,” exploring those questions posed in “What the Bleep,” while coupling perceptions of East-West wisdoms and boundaries. Also in development is a stylish adaptation of “The Immortals,” a format of comic-anime books, as well as a property about the first prominent early female bohemian leaders in the 20’s and 30’s, a film that will go beyond traditional women’s liberation subjects exploring the areas of mystical arts and interpersonal relationships.
