SALEM, Ore. — The Salem Police Department is appealing to the public to help them locate 62-year-old Daniel Ray Myers in connection with an attempted murder investigation. Myers is wanted in connection with an alleged attempted sexual assault and stabbing of a work colleague on February 10, 2026. According to the police, Myers and his victim were making online food order deliveries when the incident occurred at 11.30 p.m. The victim told the police that they were traveling in Myers’ vehicle, which he parked in a secluded location in West Salem. Tidings Context Salem Police later corrected the initial report time to about 9:00 p.m. on Feb 10, 2026, and said there is probable cause to arrest Myers for attempted murder in the second degree. She said that when she resisted his attempted sexual assault, he stabbed her several times. However, she was able to convince him to let her go into a Walgreens store in Keizer to buy first aid items. Once inside the store, the victim alerted staff to her predicament, and they contacted the police. She was transported to Salem Hospital for treatment. When the police arrived on the scene, Myers had fled, and his whereabouts remain unknown. The police warn that Myers could be carrying firearms, so caution is required.
