New Young Actors For a trio of actors at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, this is their big chance. Music in `Oo-Bla-Dee' To produce a play about a Bebop Jazz band in the 1940s, Director Tim Bond needed to have original music created in the style of the time. To fill that need, Bond turned to Ashland Composer Michael Van-nice. Musicals at OSF Over the years, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has leavened its diet of drama with an occasional treat of musical dessert. The horse in `Life is a Dream' The towering, eerie stallion appeared for only a few minutes - prancing, tossing its head and lashing out with its hooves before leaping from the stage. Repertory Theatre T he Oregon Shake-speare Festival possesses one unique characteristic that sets it apart from the other live theater companies across the country: It is the nation's oldest and largest rotating repertory theater.
