CASCADE-SISKIYOU NM Forum to explores data gathered in National Monument Presentation March 26 at library Comment By Local report DailyTidings.com By Local report Posted Mar. 19, 2015 at 5:06 PM By Local report Posted Mar. 19, 2015 at 5:06 PM » Social News A community forum exploring data from recent studies in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland.  The Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is one of the most biologically diverse areas in North America. The forum, hosted by the Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, will include information from recently conducted fieldwork within the monument shared by botanists Henry Whitridge and Mason Landon, geologist Jad D’Allura, ecologist Dennis Odion, biologist Michael Parker and environmental education student Peter Kleinhenz.  Research topics include interpreting geological field notes, grazing impacts on the natural landscape, native plant seed collecting, wildfire regimes, status-update of the endangered Oregon spotted frog, and teaching K-12 environmental education.  For more information, visit www.cascadesiskiyou.org.
