Decision nears on winning Fourth design The Ashland Chamber of Commerce Fourth of July Committee has been flooded with design entries for the contest to determine this year's official Ashland July Fourth T-shirt logo. "We have over 85 entries to choose from," said chamber spokesperson Mary Pat Parker. "This is the greatest number of entries we have ever received." Parker praised the creativity and imagination shown in the design entries, which will be on display (pictured at right, below) in the lobby of the new Community Development Building at 51 Winburn Way through Friday. The T-shirt design will go hand-in-hand with this year's theme, "Hot Fun in the Summertime." Many of the designs were submitted by Ashland children. Residents are invited to visit the showing at the Community Development Building and pick out their favorite designs. The Ashland Chamber of Commerce Fourth of July Committee will collect all the votes after Friday and announce the winner soon thereafter. The winner of the contest will see their design on Ashland's July Fourth T-shirts, receive a small stipend and a fair amount of recognition, according to chamber officials.
