Harley The Dog Rescued From Applegate River Island News By Diane Megaw On Dec 2, 2024 Last updated Dec 2, 2024 Courtesy: Rural Metro Fire - Josephine County JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. — On Sunday, A lucky dog was rescued from an island in the Applegate River near Fish Hatchery Road by the Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County.   Rural Metro Fire Rescue Dog In Applegate River The Rural Metro Fire crew assisted in safely rescuing Harley, a dog stranded on an island in the Applegate River. Harley found his way to the island but, after exploring it, tried to cross a swift water channel. As Harley became cold and tired, the owner contacted Rural Metro Fire for help. The crew assessed the situation on arrival and then safely retrieved Harley from the island. He was swiftly reunited with his family and is now warm and dry at home after his adventure.
