--> --> Clara Lucille McKinstry Private inurnment will be in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif., for Clara Lucille McKinstry, of Ashland who died Saturday, October 20, 2001 at Medford Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Medford. No services are planned. Mrs. McKinstry was born August 6, 1908 in Paducah, Texas, to Clyde T. and Julia I. (Bettis) Chalk. In 1920 she moved with her parents and sister, Helen Louise, from San Antonio, Texas, to California. She toured with several stage revues as a dancer before marrying John Irwin McKinstry on December 16, 1930 in Los Angeles, Calif. In later years she received a Bachelor's of Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles. In 1976 she moved to Ashland where she was a member of the Ashland chapter of A.A.U.W. Survivors include her daughter Mickey Bruner of Medford; three grandchildren, Laurie J. Patton of Ashland, Lisa A. Pittenger of Springfield, Ore., and Brian A. Bruner of Gold Hill, Ore.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Irwin McKinstry in 1986, and her sister Mrs. H.Y. Irwin.
