two, column one, contained an article entitled Canada '
Denies Robeson Visa." This article reflected that Canadian
immigration authorities had refused to allow PAUL RQBESON to
enter Canada for a concert tour.
The "Daily Worker issue of June 6, 1956, page
six, column three, contained an article entitled "The CryGrows in London - Let Robeson Sing!" by;ned_ John
Williamson. This article concerned a meeting of the "Let
Robeson Sing Committee" which met in Manchester, England,
on May 27, 1956. The purpose of this comittee was to unite
the scattered activities in England in connection with
supporting PAUL ROBESON's passport case. The article also
stated that an inspiring letter was read to the committee
from PAUL ROBESON in which he told of his few weeksof
freedom in Canada.

According to this information in July or August,
1960, ROBESON paid a visit to the FDJ Central HQ school
located at Bogensee, near Bernau, Bezirk Potsdam, and was 1
conducted on an inspection tour of the installation.
During the inspection, the students were assembled in one F
of the large auditoriums and introduced to the singer.- e i
Informant did not know who sponsored the visit, but he 3
stated that a representative of the school made the ,
introductory speech. He described the difficulties
ROBESON had encountered in obtaining a passport, spoke -
briefly on the singer's fame, and then turned the meeting
over to the guest. ROBESON spoke for about ten minutes
and explained that he was travelling on a mission; the
mission of bridging the gap between nations by music.i
