Medina, Black Tornado roll past Crater CENTRAL POINT - Bitter cold and a chilling wind couldn't stop North Medford High hurdler Rosana Medina from posting one of the state's best times in the 300-meter hurdles on Tuesday. Medina blazed over the barriers in a lifetime best 46.44 seconds. Only Sharee Beckham of Lebanon (46.1) has run faster in the state this season. The Black Tornado girls won 13 of the 17 events in rolling to an 87-53 victory over Crater. North Medford's boys also triumphed, 87-58. "Rosana is still learning how to run that race," North Medford coach Mark Hodges said of Medina in the 300 hurdles. "Her technique still has a ways to go, but she's got the speed to run a great time." Brittany Hodges had a hand in four victories for the Tornado and anchored its 4x400 relay team to a 4:08.0 clocking, the third-best time in the state in that event. In the boys meet, Trent Huard won the 100 and 200 and ran a leg on North Medford's winning 4x100 relay. The Comets host the Crater Classic on Saturday. BOYS TEAM SCORES - North Medford 87, Crater 58.
