Mary Isabelle Adams Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jul. 20, 2016 at 2:00 AM Posted Jul. 20, 2016 at 2:00 AM » Social News Mary Isabelle Adams passed away July 17, 2016 at her home at Fountain Plaza in Medford, Ore. She was born November 18, 1919 to Guy T. Morris and Anna B. (Lahr) Morris in Malta, Mont. After Mary was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain spotted fever at the Mayo clinic, the family moved to Albuquerque, N.M. in 1937, as the doctors felt she couldn't survive the Montana winters. Mary graduated from high school in Albuquerque. During her youth, while still in Montana., her parents began to listen to the Gospel message brought by two servants of God. Mary made her decision to follow the Lord at age 16 in Montana never wavering from that decision, loving the Lord and her Savior until the end. Mary’s future husband’s family moved from Wisconsin toAlbuquerque also for health reasons. Mary and George met at a Gospel meeting in Albuquerque and were married May 22, 1940. They moved to Southern California during the war and lived there until retirement. Mary was a housewife until her husband was diagnosed with tuberculosis and needed to go into a sanitarium. She then went to work for IT Gilfillan and became a lead inspector for radar equipment. When she retired from Gilfillan they moved to Joshua Tree, Calif. When Mary’s husband had some health issues later on, they moved to Desert Hot Springs to be closer to medical facilities. Her husband passed away on their anniversary in 1999. Eleven years ago Mary bought a park model trailer and parked it on her son’s acreage in Central Point. She lived there during the summer and would go back to Desert Hot Springs for the winter. Eight years ago in 2008, she sold her place in Desert Hot Springs and moved into Fountain Plaza retirement home in Medford, Ore. As she became more frail these last months, she made the decision to move into the personal care wing of Fountain Plaza July 1, 2016. She was unaware that she had advanced cancer which was found in her lungs a few weeks ago. Mary loved to correspond with kin and friends all over the world. She loved to share notes on what was spoken at her church’s fellowship services and conventions. She enjoyed sewing and was a good seamstress until her eyesight began to fail. Mary is survived by her son, Gerald of Central Point, Ore.; daughters, Ruth Wilterding (Aron) of Minneapolis and Lorraine Heppner (Jack) of Huntington Beach, Calif.; brother, Robert Morris of Murphy, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her grandson, Mark Wilterding; son-in-law, Barry Heppner; husband, George; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Adams; great-grandson, Trenton Winkler; and granddaughter, Joanna Wilterding Albers. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Perl Funeral Home.
