Stabbing reported near 7-Eleven Sunday Dec 25, 2016 at 6:06 PM Dec 25, 2016 at 6:09 PM One man has been hospitalized and another is in police custody following a reported stabbing Christmas Day at a Medford convenience store. Medford police detectives have taken a suspect into custody in the wake of a reported knife fight just after 11 a.m. Sunday outside the 7-Eleven at 1220 Crater Lake Avenue, near McAndrews Road, according to Medford police Sgt. Geoff Kirkpatrick. Mercy Flights transported a victim to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds that Kirkpatrick described as serious but non life-threatening. Both the assailant and the victim were armed with knives during the fight, according to Kirkpatrick, and police are currently interviewing the alleged assailant to determine whether and what crime was committed. The assailant has not been lodged in jail yet, according to Kirkpatrick, and police don't believe any other suspects were involved. More information will be released after an arrest is made, Kirkpatrick said.
