Police have not charged anyone in the case, but police said they have suspects in mind. "It's certainly something that's going to take a while for us to get all of (the iPads) back," said Medford police Lt. Kerry Curtis. The tablets were among $6,780 worth of property stolen in the early-morning hours of May 4 from the nonprofit facility's offices, located across the street from the main building in the 1000 block of North Riverside Avenue. Thieves used a rock about the size of a fist to smash out a window. They took the iPads, including a gold iPad worth $800, and multiple iPad Minis, along with other pieces of audio and video equipment. The burglary also resulted in damage to furniture. The stolen iPads had software installed on them that Kids Unlimited officials had planned to use at the 10th Singler Open basketball tournament, which was held May 7-8. The software was designed to assist players and coaches with tournament updates and logistics. Kids Unlimited was able to get the software installed on other tablets, some of which they already owned, and some that were donated. "It's encouraging that we were able to recover some of them," said Kids Unlimited Executive Director Tom Cole. "Something is better than nothing."
