In an interview with police on Jan. 10, 2014, Monica said she'd been using a backhoe to bury pieces of victim Stephen Frank Delicino's skull and other remains along with pig and possibly sheep bones on her property when neighbors alerted the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. She said deputies came to her Wimer farm, looked into the hole and saw pig bones. When she offered to dig deeper for them, they declined, she said. In the tapes, Monica claimed Delicino shot himself five times in the head before her pigs dragged his body away, but police never believed her story.   Update, 2:35 p.m.: Susan Monica drew a map to show where another victim was buried at her Wimer farm during taped confessions made to police that are being shown in court today during her double-murder trial. Monica is accused of shooting 59-year-old Stephen Frank Delicino in summer 2012 and 56-year-old Robert Harry Haney in September 2013 on her 20-acre farm in the 9100 block of West Evans Creek Road, then leaving their corpses for her pigs. Monica claimed Haney's death was a mercy killing because he was being attacked by her pigs. She told police she didn't report shooting Haney over fear her pigs would be shot by authorities. As she was finishing up the details, she drew a map showing where a second victim was buried, the tapes show. Police never bought Monica's claim she mercy-killed Haney after her docile pigs were eating him to near death.  Monica broke down for a brief period this morning, the second day of what's expected to be a two-week trial, prompting Jackson County Circuit Judge Tim Barnack to hastily call a recess. After the jurors left the courtroom, the 66-year-old pig farmer and welder told the judge, "I can't bear to watch" the taped confessions. She then was escorted out of the courtroom by the bailiff while attorneys conferred on how to proceed. The trial resumed less than 10 minutes later. Monica told police during the recorded interviews that she valued animals over people. "I do not value human life very much," Monica said in the tapes. "My feeling is the only thing wrong with the planet is there's people on it. If not for us, all the other animals, even dodo birds, would be here."
